Chakras in a Nutshell

9 am – 1 pm
Students receive 4 CEUs from Yoga Alliance
Online instruction by Fernando Avellanet
Chakras in a Nutshell is designed as an introduction to the more in-depth 7-week (and 14 CEU hours Yoga Alliance) personal journey into the Chakras Immersion Series (101). Chakras in a Nutshell is a one-day, 4-hour (with 4 CEU hours from Yoga Alliance) intensive designed to be taught separately from the series, providing a fundamental understanding of the historical context and practice of chakras.
The four hours will contain a lecture on the basic scientific principles surrounding the effects of a transformative practice of chakras and energetic simulations in your physical yoga practice. The class will cover the importance of the Chakra & Nadis system, as well as the correlation with our nervous system and physiological functions, and our Kosha and Doshas. This class will also highlight the importance of Patanjali’s teachings, and the Tantric traditions and influence in the new age interpretations of Chakra practice. After the lecture, we will engage in a brief mat practice of energetic movements synchronized with breath work, meditation practice and yoga Nidra methodologies.
This workshop can be essential for yoga teachers seeking to become more confident and knowledgeable in the basic science of chakras and how it relates to yoga practice. This workshop is also open to yoga practitioners who wish to enhance their understanding and create a better practice for themselves.
For practitioners seeking a more transformative experience into each chakra please visit the Chakras Immersion Series (101).
Proficiency in advanced poses or techniques is not required for either course.
The live online workshop will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Fernando Avellanet, who teaches anatomy and physiology in Heal Me Yoga teacher training courses, will be the teacher and facilitator. Please read below for more information.
